Look for the Layers

California has layers of history—literally.

From old beach towns to forgotten picnic areas, you’re walking over decades of lost items.

This weekend I explored an older coastal trail. Not a typical detecting spot—but that’s why it worked.

Found:
✔ Vintage key
✔ Rusty pocket knife
✔ Old coin (still identifying)

If you want better results:
Stop following the crowds.

Use historical maps, look for older gathering spots, and bring a pinpointer tool—it saves so much time when locating targets.

The best finds aren’t always where everyone else is searching.
